PSV’s 2025–26 season was successful on two fronts.
On the pitch, the club won a third consecutive Eredivisie title, finishing with 84 points, 101 goals and a 19-point advantage over second place. Off the pitch, PSV closed the financial year with a net profit of nearly €7 million, while equity rose to a club-record €55 million. psv.nl
The combination matters.
It shows how sporting performance and financial discipline can strengthen each other rather than operate as separate objectives.
Sporting Success as a Growth Driver
PSV’s domestic dominance provided the foundation.
Winning the league again strengthened the club’s sporting position, supported fan engagement and reinforced commercial value. The team also opened the season by winning the Johan Cruijff Shield, while eight academy players made their official first-team debuts during the year. psv.nl
That mix of immediate success and internal development is important.
Sustainable sporting performance is not only about winning now. It is also about maintaining a pathway that can reduce dependence on external recruitment and create future player value.
Financial Discipline Behind the Results
Despite a less successful European campaign than the previous year, PSV remained profitable.
The club recorded a positive operating result of €1 million and a positive transfer result of more than €9 million. Equity increased from €48 million to €55 million, while the solvency ratio improved from 22% to 23%. PSV also finished the year with more than €11 million in freely available cash. psv.nl
These figures suggest a club building financial resilience rather than simply chasing short-term sporting returns. Importantly, the transfers of Ismael Saibari and Joey Veerman occurred in the current season and were therefore not included in the 2025–26 financial result. psv.nl
Commercial Growth Beyond Matchday Results
PSV also continued to expand commercially.
Revenue from sponsorship and hospitality exceeded €46 million, a new club record.
Merchandise and licensing reached €12 million, also a record, while ticketing generated €25 million. The Philips Stadium welcomed approximately 880,000 visitors across 26 home matches. psv.nl
The club also increased its direct relationship with supporters through Mijn PSV+ and PSV Play, with total paying memberships approaching 76,000 by the end of the financial year. psv.nl
This matters because modern club value is increasingly built across several revenue streams, not only transfers or European prize money.
Investing While Remaining Profitable
PSV also continued to invest in infrastructure.
Around €24 million was committed to improvements at the Philips Stadium and PSV Campus De Herdgang, while the new TenCate Stadion De Herdgang was financed entirely from the club’s own resources. psv.nl
That creates an important distinction.
Financial discipline does not necessarily mean reducing ambition. It can mean creating enough balance-sheet strength to continue investing without undermining long-term stability.
Football Planet Perspective
PSV’s 2025–26 season offers a useful case study in alignment.
Sporting success strengthened commercial performance. Commercial growth supported financial resilience. Financial resilience created room for further investment.
That cycle is increasingly important in modern football.
The strongest clubs are not necessarily those that spend the most.
They are often the ones able to turn sporting performance into sustainable financial capacity — and then reinvest that capacity back into the football operation. psv.nl
